It depends on what your needs are, but an average Monkey Bars system, installed with everything hanging, is usually about 1/3 the cost in the same space than any other installed garage storage system. When properly installed the units are completely safe and secure. Our overhead storage racks are built to be installed on 4 trusses so that the weight is carried by more load-bearing members. In addition, there is a 2” safety lip around the edge of the platform to prevent storage items from being pushed off of the platform. Authorized dealers are well trained to ensure that proper installation procedures are followed.

How much storage capacity does an overhead rack have?

Each unit is designed to adjust in several different ways to maximize the available storage space. At maximum capacity, each 4X8 unit has 120 cubic feet of storage space. Overhead racks also enable you to utilize space that is typically left empty, allowing you to use floor space more effectively.

Can these overhead storage racks be configured for different storage needs?

Absolutely! Our overhead racks are modular and can be joined together in many sizes and configurations. Midlands Storage Systems can consult with you to design a system that meets your needs.

Midlands Storage Systems can provide storage racks for hanging your frequently used items so that they are readily accessible.

How long does it take to install a floor coating?

Typical installations will take 1 ½ days to complete. However, smaller jobs can be done in a single day

What do you do for preparation for the concrete?

We grind, like sanding wood, the entire floor and repair any cracks and minor imperfections. Our crack repair materials will fix almost any crack and hide it from sight once the floor is complete. You will likely never know where the crack was by the time the job is finished.

When can I start using my new floor?

Unlike most do it yourself floors where you have to avoid driving on it for several days, you can walk on this coating in as little as 8 hours and drive on it in just 24 hours!

Is the floor covering slippery?

The floors could be slippery when wet because they are impervious to liquids. The full layer of chips adds texture to help with the slipperiness. If this is a real concern for you, we can add a special anti-slip product to the top coat.

How do I clean my new floor?

Our coatings are impervious to liquids so oil and chemicals can be wiped up without staining the floor with a paper towel and if needed, Dawn dishwashing liquid can be used. Other debris can be removed with a blower or washed out simply with a hose or light pressure washer. You will be amazed at how easily the floor comes clean.

What is the difference between a Do It Yourself Kit and your product?

The difference is the process and products that we use. First we take the time to properly prepare the surface and grind the concrete. Next, we use the highest quality bonding products that are on the market. These products are for professional install only; therefore they are not watered down with additional solvents to aid with installing like a DIY kit. The polyurea top coat is key to providing you with a floor that will not fade, chip, peel, discolor or crack. This gives your floor the guarantee of remaining a part of the concrete and remains strong enough to handle a lot of wear and tear.

Are the resins you use harmful to me or the environment?

No. Unlike the cheaper kits on the market, our products have a high solids content, which means less solvents and less VOC’s emitted that evaporate into the air.

Why should I go with a full broadcast of color flakes?

There are numerous benefits to choosing colors flakes over a solid epoxy coating, those advantages include: A full layer of chips for extra protection to your concrete. A broad range of chip colors to choose from to match you garage/home. The color flakes add texture to the floor for slip resistance. The color flakes also cover up and hide cracks and chips in your concrete.

How much is it going to cost to get my floor done?

The cost for the floor varies and it is almost impossible to give a quote without coming to your home and looking at the condition of the concrete. Some factors include the amount of cracks that may need repaired, possible stem walls (vertical wall) that you may want to coat, custom color options and the size of the garage floor.

Can the coating be applied other than in the garage?

Yes the coatings we offer are suitable for a number of different applications including garages, patios, basements, steps, sidewalks and more! Our UV stable top coat will not yellow or fade in the sun.

What if my oil drips on my floor or other chemicals are spilled on it?

No problem, our coating are resistant to almost all household chemicals. It is recommended that you wipe them up as soon as possible but they should not harm the coating. The only known issue to harm the floor is battery acid, which typically comes from a golf cart. If the battery acid is cleaned off within three days, you should be okay.

What are the wood cabinets made of?

Cabinets are made from 3/4"-1" thick particle board coated with melamine. Melamine can come in a variety of colors, designs, and wood grains. They are moisture resistant and won’t rot or warp in the humid South Carolina weather as compared to plywood or solid wood cabinets. The front of cabinet door/drawers varies based on the product line chosen. If you desire to have cabinets made of a certain material, we would be more than happy to talk to you about that option.

What are the specifications? I.e. Dimensions, configurations, etc.?

We offer a wide range of cabinet sizes to fit almost any garage. The cabinet configurations can be customized to fit your needs and work best in your garage. You can view all of the lines we carry on our “Cabinet” page.

Garage Bars cabinets are made of melamine and Formica. Most multi-purpose cleaners work fine on these surfaces. There are cleaners that are specific to cabinets and countertops that are encouraged. What is the maximum tire width to use the Steady Rack?

The maximum tire width we recommend with a Classic Rack and Fender Rack is 2.35 inches. Tires between 2.25 inches and 2.4 inches in width will fit into a Classic or Fender Rack however they will be a tight fit.

This is why we recommend upgrading to a Fat Rack over 2.35 inches. Your bike will still be secure in the Fat Rack, it will just not fit as snug as it would in the Steadyrack Classic.

How close can I install Steady Rack to each other?

The distance apart is very dependent on your individual situation. The racks can be spaced closer together by staggering the height of every rack, to ensure the bikes handlebars and pedals do not clash or you can space them farther apart and utilize the pivot action to get them up close to the wall. We have produced some guides to spacing your bikes which you can find on our website and we always recommend you measure your bikes first utilizing our installation instructions guide as a safety net.

What kind of walls can I hang my Steady Rack on?

Steady racks can be installed on almost all types of walls, including masonry, timber or steel framed, brick, or concrete. Don’t worry, the experts at Midlands Storage Systems will use the correct fastener for the wall type.
