The Midlands distributorship was first established in Columbia, SC in 2011 and was originally named Midlands Storage Systems. In 2017, Coastal Garage Solutions was started by Andy Smith to serve the greater Charleston market.  In 2020, the owners Phil Muhlenkamp (Midlands) and Andy Smith (Coastal) joined forces to service a broader area of South Carolina by expanding to the Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head markets.  Improve My Garage was then formed to accurately describe the service we provide.  Armed with years of unique, hands-on garage organizational experience, Improve My Garage is now bringing these unique systems across the southeast to help homeowners to improve their garage and reclaim their space.
